Calmly Correcting Negative Behaviors Before They Start: 4 Skills for Relationship Success

For parents, calmness comes when we have confidence in how to handle a situation. What situations disrupt your calmness? And could a few new skills help you increase it? This session will answer these questions by showing you how to pre-teach your kids the skills for successful relationships—which, in turn, can help correct negative behaviors before they start. This session will also include training on how to calmly handle difficult situations when they do come up

FAQs

Is parking free?
Yes. Parking at the Davis Conference Center is free, on a first-come, first-served basis. We expect over 500 attendees to be at the conference center on the day of the event, so come early and carpool with your spouse and/or friends if you can.

Will food be available?
Adults will be responsible for meals and snacks on their own. You may bring a sack lunch to eat outside, purchase food from concessions, or from a local restaurant.
- Foods such as pizza, nachos, hotdogs, and drinks will be available for purchase at concessions in the vendor hall during the lunch hour
- Nearby restaurants are within a 5-minute drive
- The Davis Conference Center prohibits outside food and drink

When do the conference doors open and close?
Registration opens for entry at 8:30 AM and the conference ends at 5:30 PM.

Where do I go when I get there and what do I need to bring?
Guests should enter through the Sky Lobby and visit the registration desk to redeem ticket(s).
Please bring the Eventbrite QR code provided to you at checkout for each ticket. You can bring a printed ticket or go paperless by showing us the QR code(s) from your phone. Either method will work!
You might also want to bring a pen and paper for note-taking and a refillable water bottle. The Davis Conference Center has built-in stations for refilling water bottles. -
My teen or tween is attending the summit while I attend the conference. Where do they go?
The Education Empowerment Conference is being held in combination with the Elevation Youth Summit. Both events will be on the same day, in the same place (different wings of the building), and have the same check-in process. Simply go to the registration desk in the Sky Lobby and we’ll take care of you and your child all at once.

Is childcare provided?
No. Due to the volume of attendees and to ensure all parents have the best experience possible at our conference, we ask that you please make outside arrangements for childcare. We understand that breastfed infants might need to attend — that’s okay! A mother’s lounge will be available to care for your baby.

Are tickets and vendor packages refundable?No. Due to the detailed planning of these events and expenses incurred in the months prior to the event, tickets are nonrefundable.
Ticket Transfer: Though we do not allow refunds, we will allow registrants to transfer their ticket to another parent or student up to 2 weeks prior to the event. Transfers must be done via the EventBrite ticketing system. Please contact our Customer Support Team at support@educationempowermenthub.com for instructions.
